Monitoring & Evaluation

Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) are essential management tools used in projects, programs, and policies to track progress, assess outcomes, and support informed decision-making. M&E ensures accountability, learning, and continuous improvement, especially in development, public sector governance, education, healthcare, and non-profit work. Monitoring is the continuous and systematic process of collecting, analyzing, and using information to track the progress of activities against planned objectives and timelines. It helps managers understand whether a project or program is on course and if corrective actions are needed.

Evaluation is the systematic assessment of a project, program, or policy’s design, implementation, and results. It is conducted periodically to determine the relevance, effectiveness, efficiency, impact, and sustainability of an intervention.
